All your sons (and daughters) will be taught of the Lord and great will be your children's peace. — Isaiah 54:13 Having children changes our lives. The goal of the nursery is to provide loving care and instruction in the safe and supportive environment of our Covenant Church Family so that parents can still attend Sunday morning service as well as special events and focus entirely on God. The nursery team is made up of adult members ranging in experience and age. Nursery manager are paid leaders who oversee everything. Supervisors are experienced caregivers who wear teal green smocks and rotate between the nurseries to provide extra assistance. Room leaders are church members who are parents that use the nursery room for their children. Each room leader serves once a month and lead specific activities. Rotating members are other church members who support Covenant families by serving about two times a year. This group ranges from grandparents to young adults and even teens. Separate nurseries are available for infants, crawlers, walkers, and toddlers during both Sunday school and the worship service. ID bracelets with numbers are given to each guardian dropping off their child. Their main purpose is to act as a receipt to ensure that children are returned to their proper guardian. The number on the bracelet allows a guardian to be called immediately via our digital display system which flashes the number during the service. Health is a priority in the nursery. Children aren't to be placed in the nursery if they have a cough, fever, or runny nose that they cannot manage themselves (a closed circuit area is available for parents who need to remain with their child, but still wish to view the service). Tables are disinfected and gloves are worn during diaper changing. Toys and play equipment are disinfected regularly as well. |
